When everyone around you chooses to bend down low,
Stand tall.
When everyone around you is overwhelmed by the pressures of fear,
Stand out boosting in being queer.
Wearing the tower-strength foundation
Of who you are.
When everyone around you chooses to walk about with shoulders falling down,
Stand proud.
Feet held firm on the ground
Not even the whirlwind of hate
Can shake or move you.
Β When everyone around you chooses to mum
Speak up!
You cannot afford to lick their bums
Of prejudice- even if they werenβt.
They tell us,
how can we stand at all?
we have been beaten
and broken
and stripped of our identities.
and denied our human rights
The past is a narrative about our fears.
The Present is an extension of our rise up
The past is a painting of our tainted memories.
Blistered, woe-be-gone memories.
The Present demands us to erase all this and spring.
This is a fight for basic human rights
And we will not surrender.
Love is about love and breaks borders of gender
Unless these rights are made for every one but not choosen ones.
That ought to have been part of the agenda
When drafting the constitution.
We have to break this cycle of hate.
We have to amalgamate.
To bring down the walls of oppression.
Many are victims
Many will fall into the system
Especially depression If we choose to stay silent
